This is our purpose, our future, our commitment: To allow God (if we dare) to make us what He wants us to be – A Church on the Edge.

And that’s where we find ourselves right now, poised on the edge between east, mid-town, and south Tulsa; on the edge between high and low income residents; on the edge between people from a variety of cultural, language, and immigrant backgrounds; on the edge between the past, the present, and the future.

Some might consider being on the edge like this a terrifying experience. I agree. But I also see it as an exciting adventure because it provides the best place to watch the Cross of Christ cross all sorts of borders and do its wise and powerful work.

Unlike God's Church, individual congregations are mortal.  When either they have fulfilled their vocation or, by stubborn refusal, have failed to fulfill it, they cease to exist--the light goes out.

But, until such time as a congregation's calling has been fulfilled or refused, no power in heaven or earth, no gale force gust from hell, no adversity, hardship, or privation can put out the fire or close the door.
